
Student Council
Student Council Representatives
One member of the student body (one from each course), is voted for by the students to represent them on the council.
Our Student Council meet every two weeks to discuss their ideas, improvements and discuss positive events that have benefitted Woodpecker Court.

We implement changes onsite led by the council, such as a recycling bin for all our plastics and glass and the additional uniform (hats and fleeces) that everyone wears. The council suggest ideas for our student entitlement trips that we have every term. Trips have included bowling, rock climbing and mountain biking. The council also has an input to our community and charity events.
The following students were elected to service for the 2024/2025 academic year. They are anonymised to protect their identities, but their statements for election are as below.

I would like to be on student council because I think students should have a say on what goes on at Woodpecker.

I want to join the student council so I can try and make the school better and to let people say there suggestions so they dont stay in the letter box and I will take suggestions from you all and I will write them in a book to take to the student council

I want to be part of the student council because I have a lot of ideas for trips and rewards. I also think it will give me a chance to help people.

I just want to improve the lives of everyone here at Woodpecker. Some of the skills I have are leadership, team work and listening. I hope you will help me to change Woodpecker for the better.
