Over the past couple of months we have experienced every weather type imaginable, from 'The Beast from the East' to scorching rays, despite all of this, our young people have prevailed and shown their resilience. We have been building enclosures for new animals for our animal care programme, such as, sheep, pygme goats, goslings and our first hatching of chicks this year. We have renovated our vegetable patch and have been busy planting all of our summer veg. A third site has been created to allow for a bushcraft area, where the young people can learn how to carve spoons and bowls, perfect their fire-lighting skills, use their natural environment to create shelters and learn traditional back woods cooking skills, with support from and thanks to Tilmanstone Colliery Welfare Sports Club.
