Mental Health and Wellbeing

Message from Cath our provision counsellor

In at times an uncertain chaotic world, Woodpecker Court strives to provide a place of safety for the young people who attend, both physically and emotionally.

I believe that a sense of safety is an essential step towards recovery from emotional trauma or distress. I work with young people on their own terms and at their own pace - they are in control. We often work creatively in both the traditional indoor counselling setting and outside in nature. As trust is built they develop not only a deeper understanding of themselves, but also a sense of agency and purpose. This is a privilege to witness.
